A few questions/introduction @ 12-29-2006 03:20 PM

Hello all I am interested in becoming a mason, though I only know what I've read about them, and don't know if I can believe it all. My Grandfather is a mason, and my grand mother was an eastern star. I have asked my grand father several times about the freemasons but he gives very vague answers-as if he is not allowed to talk about, even though I I am intersted in joining. The Masons/Eastern Stars performed a beautiful memorial service for my grandmother when she passed on, and ever since then I have been very interested in learning more about the organization. Needless to say, my grandfather re-married and is now living in florida with his new wife, and I havn't spoken to him about free masonry since. I didn't know if it was my place to go to the local masonic temple in Newfane, NY and go in there asking a whole bunch of questions...So i figured I would post on here first. I have a Scottish Background from my grandfather who is a mason, and I feel very strong ties to it. I am 25 years old and I am very spiritual-but I don't claim any one religion. I have very interested in the metaphysical aspects of life, and yearn to learn more about it. If anyone has any advice for me on how to gain more knowledge please let me know.

Thanks!
Phil G.

I sure the Brothers and Sisters here will tell you more about the info on joining as it is slightly different in each country.
I would suggest going to the local masonic temple in Newfane, NY and having a chat with them.
You will find them freindly and will point you in the right direction on procedures to follow.

Yes,

Maybe find someone you know who is a member at the lodge close to you? Or just give them an email/call and ask about becoming a member. They will guide you in the right direction.

Or I could email them and have them reply back to you. If you would rather me do so but it would be better if the seeker does it Wink
