Closing in the 3rd Degree @ 08-19-2007 02:06 AM

When closing the 3rd Degree, does your Lodge use a full closing ("...deign to receive the substituted secrets...etc) or a shortened version?

Here we have three closings....The Long Closing as above, a shortened closing, and a very short closing on Installations.

We very rarely use the long closing, but many Brethren grumble when we do, even though it takes about 5 minutes longer. It just means the Wardens have to do some work for a change!!

cheers

We always use the long closing in the 3rd. But we only open in the 3rd on a Raising and the Installation.
Some Lodges when doing an Initiation open in the 1st, 2nd 3rd then close back to the first. This would be good for practise (although longer) as Brethren always have problems in the 3rd as it is not used much!
