Freemasonry can be addictive! @ 09-09-2006 04:52 PM

I have an absolutely voracious appetite for knowledge.
After becoming a MM and taking the office of IG, I joined another Craft Lodge so I could sit on the sidelines and watch the IG office being carried by others, I ended up taking an office in that Lodge of JD because a gap came up.
This was enough at the time for me but being eager, a chance came up to join a Mark Lodge so I thought, “it can’t hurt, I will just sit on the side lines and watch for a while”.
I was advanced into Mark at the last meeting of the year. I have now volunteered to take JD office and will be put in that office at the installation in Oct of this year.
In Sept of this year we are consecrating a new Mark Lodge and being a founder member, I will be SD as I loved the role .
Also I will be Exalted in RA in Oct of this year.
So what I am saying is what started out as a few ideas of being involved in various lodges can take over if you are not careful.
I recommend joining other side orders for knowledge but if you are eager it is hard to sit on the side lines and not get involved!
Never mind a busy year with 2 Craft Lodges, 2 Mark Lodges and RA. When I first joined Freemasonry I told the missus, “it’s only once a month love”, I’m eating my words now but I enjoy every minute my Freemasonry and await the new Year in Oct with great eagerness.
If you can spare the time (and money), Go for it!
