I have read this article before. It is a good article but mainly to the Brethren from the USA.
As to our meetings, since we open through the degrees as is necessary, there is no requirement to exclude EAs and FCs from attending. Most American jurisdictions open in the 3° and carry on the Lodge administration (minutes, reports, propositions, votes etc.) in that degree. Under UGLE it would be regarded as quite incorrect to exclude EAs and FCs from taking part in all of that.
I enjoy small lodges. We have about 30 members in one of our Lodges and this is the Largest in the area.
We have 1 or 2 candidates a year which is fine. When you only have 4-6 meetings a year it is difficult to fit in degrees and I do not like multiple candidates.
