Time to vent! @ 12-02-2007 10:53 PM

If smoking has to be banned from bars and public places, then I say people who are sick, should be banned from going into public because I dont want to die or get sick from their second-hand sickness and germs. It doesn't matter if they can not help it, they know they're sick and they know they can spread germs!!!

*steps off the soapbox*

I am not keen on Xmas and think it should be cancelled.
Everyone running around trying to buy presents like headless chickens. You spend 10 pound and cousin Bob and he spends the same on you. Both do not like their pressies and return the for exchange. Why not save all the money on presents and treat yourself to something you really want. Anyway why wait for xmas to give pressies to your loved ones, you should do it all year round. Blooming xmas, should be cancelled! A silly man in a red suit riding reindeer all over the world in that weather, should be reported to the animal rights!
Carol singers. Do not even go there! I give money to charity and do not want someone making that awful racket outside my door then pushing a collection tin in my face.
I am a grumpy old man and if all the money spent on gifts at xmas were put to good use, it would help sort out alot of humanity problems.
My family do not send me xmas cards as I told them to save their money and put it in a charity box.
Grumpy, moany old toad Pete is what my family call me at Xmas time. Apart from that the rest of the year I pretty happy. Apart from Easter..........!!

Re: Time to vent! @ 12-03-2007 04:58 PM

I have no decorations up or even a tree. I put a small 2 foot tree on top of the T.V. last year to keep the missus happy. It went up on the 24th evening and came down boxing day morning. It is now in the skip!
I have a few beers in the afternoon but apart from that it is the same day as all the others here.
We buy a joint present for each other which is usually something for the house. Last year we bought a new 32" T.V. and took the old one to the local orphanage.
It is not that I dont like Xmas or the festivities it is just the commercialisation of it all that starts in Sept and ends in Feb!
I used to go to midnight mass in the UK until one year Santa turned up with a collection tin! Well, I don“t think he will come to my house anymore!
I have said to people if they want a xmas card I will send one via email.
I am sure I am not the only one like this.
Fat men in red suits, go on get out of here!
Have a Merry Xmas! Cheers
